MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202627089891 A) filed by Wei, Eddie on July 23, 2026, for Treatment Of Nasal Cavity Inflammation And Mucus Hypersecretion.
Inventor includes Wei, Eddie.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: The present application relates to treatment of nasal cavity inflammation and mucus hypersecretion. One aspect of the present invention is a method of treatment of rhinitis and rhinosinusitis, wherein the treatment reduces nasal stuffiness, nasal congestion, and phlegm secretion. Reduction of phlegm secretion from the nasal cavity into the pharynx can also reduce cough frequency from infectious and allergic rhinitis. In the preferred embodiment, FEMA 4557, is an example of a molecule, topically applied to the nasal mucosa, that can be used to treat rhinitis. FEMA 4557 is a potent non-irritating suppressor of acute inflammation in the nasal cavity and sinuses, a property not previously described for other topical cooling agents. Thus, FEMA 4557 and related analogs may have therapeutic utility for treating nasal inflammation and mucus hypersecretion.
