Abstract: Abstract Continuous glucose monitoring is required for diabetics during dosage adjustment for diabetic drug and for the critically ill. More frequent pricking of the fingers or using syringe to withdraw blood from blood vessel is painful and can cause thickening due to inflammation or infection. Therefore, a wearable device with Near Infra-Red (NIR) measurements are considered noninvasive because the light goes through tissue but the skin isn't punctured. NIR is safe, unlike X-rays or UV light, it does not damage DNA or tissues. It requires low energy, the light intensity used is very low, usually just enough to detect absorption through tissue
