MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621110692 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Bhilai on September 15, 2026, for Touch-Based Electrical Attachment System For Flexible And Thin-Film Sensors.

Inventors include Dr. Asmita Bose; Deep, Akash; Dr. Avishek Adhikary; Dr. Satyajit Gupta; and Prakash, Rajiv.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: An electrical attachment system (100) for providing an electrical connection to a sensor includes a housing (110) and a conductive contact element (120) supported by the housing (110) and configured to interface with an electrode of the sensor. The conductive contact element (120) is configured to make direct physical contact with at least one electrode of the sensor and establish electrical contact through controlled pressure or surface engagement, without requiring soldering, welding, conductive adhesives, or thermal processing. The electrical attachment system (100) is configured to maintain consistent electrical contact under mechanical deformation of a sensor substrate, the conductive contact element (120) including a spring-like contact geometry that accommodates strain while preserving contact integrity.
