Abstract: ABSTRACT TOPICAL HERBAL OINTMENT FORMULATION FROM AZADIRACHTA INDICA FLOWER EXTRACTS FOR WOUND HEALING APPLICATIONS The present disclosure provides a topical herbal ointment formulation (10) for wound healing applications. The topical herbal ointment formulation (10) comprises an extract (12) obtained from flowers of Azadirachta indica using a solvent selected from petroleum ether, acetone, or a hydroalcoholic solvent, and an ointment base (14) configured to deliver the extract (12) to a wound site. The extract (12) comprises bioactive phytoconstituents selected from alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, tannins, and fatty acids. The topical herbal ointment formulation (10) exhibits antibacterial activity against bacterial strains including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, and Staphylococcus epidermidis, and antifungal activity against Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, and Candida glabrata. The topical herbal ointment formulation (10) has a pH in a range of 6.5 to 7.3 and promotes fibroblast migration toward a wound area. (FIG. 1)
