MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411094206 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges on November 30, 2024, for Tool Honing Assistive Device.

Inventors include Dr. Aman Sharma; Dr. Neeraj Kamboj; Dr. Avtar Singh; Swarn Singh; Ravneet Kaur; and Supinder Kaur.

Abstract: A tool honing assistive device comprising a platform 101 is positioned on a fixed surface, multiple suction cups 102 for securing platform 101 on surface, L-shaped rod 104 for supporting disc 103 on platform 101, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 108 to determine dimensions of the tool, a telescopically operated link 109 for positioning suitable sized member towards the disc 103, laser measurement sensor to monitor sharpness of edges of tool, DC motor 110 for providing an optimum rotation to the disc 103, motorized slider 202 for translating member in required upward/downward direction, motorized ball and socket joint 107 for providing omnidirectional movement to member to properly grind evaluated portions, a laser projection unit 111 to project laser beams on evaluated portion, a temperature sensor to monitor temperature of tool being grinded, multiple Peltier units 112 to provide optimum cooling effect on platform 101.
