Abstract: ABSTRACT TOOL CONDITION MONITORING SYSTEM WITH AUGMENTED REALITY INTERFACE A tool condition monitoring system (100) for real-time machining tool wear prediction comprises a data acquisition module (102) configured to capture and digitise machining force signals using a dynamometer (104), an edge computing device (106) for local data processing without cloud infrastructure reliance, a preprocessing module (108) for signal normalisation, noise suppression, and temporal windowing, a deep learning module (110), a communication module (112) for lightweight protocol transmission, an augmented reality display device (114), and an alert module (116) for generating alerts based on classified tool condition states. The deep learning module (110) comprises a variational autoencoder (118) for signal denoising, feature compression, and latent feature extraction, and a one-dimensional convolutional neural network (120) for classifying tool conditions. The augmented reality display device (114) is a head-mounted device overlaying real-time force-time graphs, tool condition predictions, and warning alerts within an operator's field of view.
