MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641094471 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Hyderabad on August 04, 2026, for Timing-Domain Receiver Apparatus And Method Of Extracting Target-Related Information.
Inventors include H S Trinath Tammisetti; and Abhishek Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a timing-domain receiver apparatus (100) for a monostatic frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar system and a method for extracting target-related information. The receiver apparatus (100) comprises a signal reception unit (102) configured to receive at least a reference signal extracted from a transmitted signal and a received signal comprising a reflected signal associated with a target and a leakage signal leaked from a transmitter. A timing unit (104) detects one or more zero-crossing events associated with the reference signal and the received signal, determines timing variations between the zero-crossing events, and generates target-related information signals comprising at least velocity and distance information of the target using the determined timing variations. The disclosed receiver apparatus (100) enables timing-domain extraction of target-related information without requiring conventional radio frequency mixing techniques. [Figure 1]
