Inventors include Mr. Vignesh K; Dr. N. Ezhilmathi; Dr. J. Joshua Gnana Sekaran; Mrs. G. A. Jeslin Renisha; Mrs. G V Aatral; and Dr. Shashank Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides a thermoacoustic closed-loop energy generator for low-resource environments configured to convert thermal energy into electrical energy through thermoacoustic conversion. The generator comprises a thermal energy input unit, hot heat exchanger, thermoacoustic stack or regenerator, cold heat exchanger, sealed closed-loop acoustic resonator, acoustic-to-electrical conversion unit, electrical conditioning unit, and energy-storage unit. Thermal energy obtained from solar, biomass, waste heat, cooking, industrial, or other locally available heat sources establishes a temperature gradient across the thermoacoustic stack. The temperature gradient induces acoustic pressure and particle-velocity oscillations within a working gas contained in the resonator. The generated acoustic energy circulates through the closed-loop resonator and is coupled to an acoustic-to-electrical transducer for conversion into electrical energy. The electrical output is subsequently rectified, regulated, and supplied to an electrical load and/or stored in a battery or supercapacitor. The system reduces dependence on conventional rotating machinery and is configured to provide a compact, modular, and comparatively low-maintenance energy-generation solution for rural, remote, off-grid, emergency, and other low-resource environments.
