The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computational instructions/programs encoded on non-transitory computer-readable media, are disclosed for implementing thermal throttle mechanisms for a Processing-in-Memory (PiM) block of a memory device. A system obtains data indicating a temperature in the PiM block to a remote SoC as computations are executed at the PiM block and enable the remote SoC to detect an adverse thermal condition in the PiM block based on indications that the temperature exceeds a threshold temperature. The remote SoC determines a real-time thermal throttling response based on the extent to which the temperature exceeds the threshold temperature and generates a command to implement the thermal throttling response at the PiM block in real-time to alleviate the adverse thermal condition. The system executes the command and implements the thermal throttling response block by adjusting a clock signal, clock division ratio, or PiM command rate passed to the PiM block.
