MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641085189 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on July 11, 2026, for Thermal Management System For Transformers With Proactive Adaptive Cooling.
Inventors include B Badra Priya; Goutham G Manoj; Brahma A B; and Swetha R Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: A thermal management system 100 for transformer 102 includes a plurality of sensors 104 configured to continuously measures temperature and load current for the transformer 102; a microcontroller 106 including at least one database, one or more processors coupled with a memory. The memory stores one or more instructions executable by the one or more processors to receive real-time temperature and load current data from the running transformer 102; pre-process data using one or more pre-processing techniques 108; process data employing trained machine learning model 110 to predict real-time thermal state; estimate time required to reach a predefined temperature level to actuate cooling process; and start and control cooling rate of control mechanism 114 to predefined level before the temperature reaches critical limits.
