Abstract: Title: Therapeutic composition for the treatment of vitiligo The present invention relates to the identification and characterization of potential therapeutic agents for vitiligo using computational screening techniques. The invention involves selecting key functional proteins associated with vitiligo, including TYRP1, TYRP2, MELAN-A, and NLRP1, and retrieving their structural data from a database. Ligands such as Tacrolimus, Azathioprine, Betamethasone, and Methotrexate were screened for their binding potential using molecular docking, and binding affinity values were determined. Among the tested compounds, Methotrexate exhibited the strongest binding affinity with TYRP1 (-7.285 kcal/mol) and NLRP1 (-7.573 kcal/mol), while Azathioprine showed a promising interaction with MELAN-A (-5.478 kcal/mol). ADME analysis was performed to evaluate pharmacokinetic properties, including molecular weight, solubility, and bioavailability. The results indicate that Methotrexate and Azathioprine demonstrate favourable characteristics for further development as therapeutic candidates for vitiligo treatment. The invention provides a novel approach for drug discovery, offering targeted therapeutic options to improve vitiligo treatment efficacy and patient outcomes.
