Abstract: THE INFLUENCE OF LITERATURE ON GRADUATE STUDENTS & MENTAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING ABSTRACT The invention relates to a computer-implemented system for characterizing the influence of literature engagement on graduate students’ mental health and psychological well-being. A user interface provides access to a literature repository containing works associated with interpretable attributes. An engagement acquisition module records permitted reading-session events, while a well-being assessment interface receives voluntary self-reported indicators at configurable times. A processing engine synchronizes the engagement records and well-being records, constructs a longitudinal influence profile, and evaluates associations between literature attributes and changes in the indicators within defined time windows. A recommendation module uses the profile, user preferences, accessibility settings, and exclusions to rank subsequent literature and generate non-diagnostic feedback, trend summaries, or reflection prompts. A privacy-controlled data store applies consent, access, retention, and separation controls. Subsequent engagement and assessment data update the profile, enabling adaptive recommendations, longitudinal analysis, and authorized research while preserving interpretability, user control, and separation from academic performance evaluation.
