MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641101852 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on August 24, 2026, for Temporal Hardware Dna-Based Hardware Authentication System And Method.
Inventors include Senthil Kumaran; Gowsik V; and Pendekanti Sai Deepthi.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a hardware authentication system (104) for authenticating a physical hardware device (102). The system (104) includes a processor (104A), a memory (104B), and a communication interface (104C). The processor (104A) acquires and processes behavioral information of the physical hardware device (102) to generate and continuously update a multidimensional Temporal Hardware DNA representing an evolving device identity. The processor (104A) compares current and historical Temporal Hardware DNA states to determine mutation indicators, classifies hardware changes as legitimate or abnormal, and persistently stores an attack scar associated with a security event. The processor (104A) further generates predicted future identity states using a predictive virtual identity representation, compares observed behavior with historical and predicted identity states, determines an identity conformity value and a trust value, and authenticates the physical hardware device (102) or initiates a security response based on the trust value and the identity conformity value.
