Abstract: A teether device (100) for infant use includes a body (102) formed from a chewable material and configured for oral engagement by an infant. A thermochromic material (104) is embedded within or applied to at least a portion of the body (102), where the thermochromic material (104) is configured to exhibit a colour change in response to a temperature indicative of fever. An indicator zone (106) is positioned on the body (102) and visible to a caregiver, where the indicator zone (106) displays the colour change of the thermochromic material (104) when the teether device (100) is in contact with an oral cavity of the infant.
