Abstract: A task performing assistive device for upper-limb impaired individuals, comprises of a curved frame 101 developed to be positioned on a user’s palm/forearm, specifically personalized for individuals with upper-limb impairments, an ultrasonic sensor is embedded in the frame 101 for determining dimensions of the user’s palm/arm, a pair of C-shaped flaps 102 installed on lateral ends of the frame 101 and configured with multiple plates 103, integrated with multiple motorized hinges 104 for tilting the flaps 102 around the user’s palm/forearm, a microphone 105 integrated in the frame 101 for enabling the user to provide input voice commands for performing a user-desired task, an imaging unit 106 to detect position of the user-specified target, and a telescopically operated pin 107 installed on the frame 101 via a motorized sliding unit 108 to provide translation to the pin 107 towards the target.
