Abstract: Systems and methods for scalable combustion are provided. A scalable combustor system includes a fluid delivery system configured to deliver a fuel fluid comprising a fuel, an oxidant fluid comprising an oxidant; and a diluent fluid comprising a diluent; into a combustor, in fluid communication with the fluid delivery system. The combustor includes a combusting chamber having a first combustor wall and a second combustor wall opposite the first combustor wall. The combustor additionally includes a plurality of orifices in at least one of the first and second combustor walls and a combustor outlet. The first and second combustor walls are transversely elongated relative to a shallow spacing between the first and second combustor walls, along directions transverse and perpendicular to a streamwise flow direction through the combustor.
