Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING AMMONIA STORAGE IN AN EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM A controller coupled to an aftertreatment system in exhaust gas receiving communication with an engine is configured to receive from one or more sensors associated with the engine, engine data. 5 The engine data includes at least one engine data value. Responsive to the at least one engine data value being below the predefined threshold, the controller increases a target ammonia storage value relative to a current target ammonia storage value such that an ammonia storage value associated with a catalyst member of the aftertreatment system increases relative to a current ammonia storage value. Responsive to the at least one engine data value being at or 10 above the predefined threshold, the controller decreases the target ammonia storage value relative to the current target ammonia storage value such that the ammonia storage value associated with the catalyst member of the aftertreatment system decreases relative to the current ammonia storage value.
