Abstract: In some aspects, the present disclosure provides a process of producing a polyester. In some embodiments, the process comprises a depolymerization process and a polymerization process. In some embodiments, the depolymerization process comprises 1) adding a first alcohol to a first composition comprising a first polyester, and 2) subjecting the first polyester and the first alcohol to conditions such that the first polyester depolymerizes to form a second composition comprising an ester derivative. In some embodiments, the polymerization process comprises subjecting the ester derivative to conditions such that the ester derivative polymerizes to form a third composition comprising a second polyester and a second alcohol.
