Abstract: ABSTRACT [505] Post-orthodontic relapse, characterized by the tendency of teeth to migrate back toward their pre-treatment position following active orthodontic tooth movement, remains a persistent clinical challenge, driven substantially by the biology of alveolar bone remodelling and periodontal soft tissue reorganization during the retention phase. Existing management approaches, constrained to mechanical retention devices and, in select cases, surgical fiberotomy, address the mechanical and connective-tissue dimensions of relapse but demonstrate fundamental incapacity to directly modulate the underlying osteoblastic and osteoclastic activity governing alveolar bone density, height, and microarchitectural stability. [510] Current adjunctive nutraceutical and herbal interventions exhibit critical deficiencies in their capacity to simultaneously stimulate osteoblastic bone formation, inhibit osteoclastic bone resorption, modulate balanced bone remodelling, support gingival collagen integrity, and reduce gingival inflammation, within a single, purpose-formulated composition targeted specifically at the biological drivers of post- orthodontic relapse. Individual herbal and mineral ingredients have been separately associated with general bone-health or anti-inflammatory benefits, but their combination, proportioning, and specific application to post-orthodontic relapse prevention has not been established in clinical practice, resulting in continued reliance on purely mechanical retention strategies unsupported by adjunctive biological reinforcement. [515] The integration of complementary phytotherapeutic mechanisms, including osteoblast-stimulating, osteoclast-inhibiting, bone-remodelling-modulating, collagen-synthesis-supporting, and anti-inflammatory botanical actions, together with direct mineral supplementation for bone mineralisation, presents an opportunity to reinforce the biological foundation of post-orthodontic stability. A composition formulated to act concurrently upon these complementary pathways can function as an adjunctive systemic intervention that supports the alveolar bone and gingival tissue environment throughout the retention phase, in a manner not addressed by mechanical retention alone. [520] The present invention describes a herbal composition, designated HERBA RELAPSE CARE, that integrates Propolis extract, Grape seed extract standardized for resveratrol, Green tea extract standardized for epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), Cissus quadrangularis, Glycyrrhiza glabra, and Calcium carbonate within a unified oral dosage formulation. The composition is configured to act systemically upon alveolar bone remodelling by concurrently stimulating osteoblastic bone formation and inhibiting osteoclastic bone resorption, while exerting anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and collagen-supportive effects upon gingival and periodontal soft tissue. [525] The invention further provides a method of administering the composition, as an adjunct to conventional mechanical retention protocols, to a subject who has undergone or is undergoing orthodontic treatment, during the retention phase, in an amount and for a duration configured to increase alveolar bone density, preserve alveolar bone height, accelerate alveolar bone regeneration, and reduce gingival inflammation, thereby providing biological reinforcement of post-orthodontic tooth position stability. Clinical and laboratory validation of the specific quantitative efficacy of the composition, including controlled comparative studies against retention-alone protocols, is anticipated as part of ongoing and future investigation, and specific efficacy figures are not asserted herein absent such validation. [530] These considerations indicate that the Herbal Composition and Method for Prevention of Post-Orthodontic Relapse Through Systemic Modulation of Alveolar Bone Remodelling and Gingival Health constitute a distinct adjunctive technological approach for orthodontic retention care, with deployment potential spanning orthodontic and dental clinical practice, adjunctive nutraceutical product formulation, and integration within comprehensive post-orthodontic retention protocols requiring biologically reinforced, systematically formulated approaches to relapse prevention
