Abstract: ABSTRACT System for verification of peer-to-peer academic mentorship and institutional data The present invention provides a digital platform and method for verifying the identity of college students, who act as mentors, to provide aspirants with authentic institutional data and information. In this invention, mentor identity verification is performed through a dual-layer authentication architecture integrating Optical Character Recognition based credential extraction and domain-specific institutional email verification through a time-sensitive Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) handshake protocol. The multi-layered Institutional Social Graph architecture comprises of nodes representing institutions, departments or courses, and verified mentor entities, and edges representing verified data contributions and hierarchical institutional relationships. A matching engine gives a list of up to five most contextually relevant active-verified mentors, to the aspirant, for one-to-one mentorship. The system provides verified data including total cost of education, placement data, faculty ratios etc., for future aspirants. Fig. 1
