MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641084898 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on July 10, 2026, for System For Selective Feature Reprocessing Using Uncertainty Guided Adaptive Inference.
Inventors include Dr. V. Sivakumar; Vidushi Negi; and Harshit Singh.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for selective feature reprocessing in neural network inference. The system (100) comprises an initial inference module configured to generate intermediate feature representations, an uncertainty estimation module configured to compute instability scores for feature components, a feature selection module configured to identify feature components based on the instability scores, a selective reprocessing module configured to apply additional computation to selected feature components, a representation reuse module configured to retain non-selected feature components without recomputation, and a fusion module configured to combine selectively processed and reused feature components into a final representation. The system (100) enables selective processing of feature components within an adaptive inference pipeline while maintaining consistency of intermediate representations across processing stages.
