MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641095670 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on August 07, 2026, for System For Restricting Operation Of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (uav) And Method Thereof.

Inventors include B. Srutha Keerthi; Umamaheswari E; Kanchana Devi V; Harish Kumar M V; Adarsh Varshan V N; Akash S; and Sujay Krishna R.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a system (100) and a method (200) for restricting operation of an unmanned aerial vehicle within a predetermined airspace. The system (100) includes a data acquisition unit (102) that obtains a three-dimensional geometric model and system parameters associated with acoustic field generation. A processor (104) executes an optimization unit (104-1) to compute optimal spatial coordinates for positioning ultrasonic emitters (106), determine a protected volume using a numerical triple integral, and generate control data and validation reports. The ultrasonic emitters (106) are deployed on boundary surfaces based on the computed coordinates. A control unit (110) drives the ultrasonic emitters (106) to generate and maintain a continuous ultrasonic interference field within the protected volume, thereby restricting operation of the unmanned aerial vehicle.
