The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed is a system, and a method and medium, for predictive lifecycle management of linen. Each linen item bears an RFID tag read by readers at operational points such as issue, laundry and store. From the reads the system accumulates lifecycle parameters of the item, comprising a count of wash cycles, a usage frequency and a measure of chemical exposure. A model computes from these a health score of the item and a predicted remaining useful life, so condition is assessed from the physical parameters that degrade the fabric rather than by estimation. The system issues an alert when the health score crosses a threshold, in one embodiment a monitoring threshold and a replacement threshold, adjusts an inventory level in dependence on a demand determined from the reads, and detects a loss from an anomalous pattern of reads, such as a missing expected read or an unauthorised movement.
