MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611104894 A) filed by Panipat Institute Of Engineering And Technology Piet on August 31, 2026, for System For Pre-Enumeration Usb Threat Isolation And Controlled Peripheral Re-Emulation.

Inventors include Mr. Anurag Vashist; and Mr. Piyush Babele.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: A system for pre-enumeration USB threat isolation and controlled peripheral re-emulation is disclosed. The system is positioned between an untrusted USB peripheral and a protected host and withholds host-side enumeration while an isolated USB host controller performs shadow enumeration of the peripheral. A secure processing subsystem validates descriptors, interfaces, endpoints, device class, power and communication behaviour and generates an approved peripheral profile and a commitment record. A separate trusted-side USB device controller presents a newly generated capability-restricted virtual USB device to the protected host, whereby original peripheral descriptors and uncontrolled USB traffic are not transparently forwarded. Validated semantic events or sanitized data objects are selectively regenerated on the trusted side. Continuous monitoring detects identity, behaviour, protocol or electrical deviation, and a hardware isolation or disconnect arrangement provides fail-closed protection. The system may operate without host-installed security software. Accompanied Drawing [FIG. 1]
