Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for automated orthodontic treatment-need assessment using standardized intraoral photographs captured via a mobile device. The system comprises a guided acquisition interface configured to capture a structured set of intraoral views including frontal, buccal, and occlusal images. An image quality verification module evaluates clarity, illumination, and framing, followed by preprocessing operations such as normalization, alignment, and resizing. A mobile-optimized deep learning inference engine extracts features from multiple views and performs multi-view fusion to generate a unified orthodontic representation. The system outputs Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need scores, including Dental Health Component and Aesthetic Component grades, and categorizes treatment priority into clinically relevant levels. A report generation module produces a structured digital assessment suitable for screening, referral, and storage. The invention enables low-cost, scalable, and offline-capable orthodontic triage using widely available smartphones without reliance on specialized clinical infrastructure or continuous internet connectivity.
