Abstract: A system (30) for operating a clamp axis (11) of an injection molding machine, comprising a human-machine interface (215) capable of communicating operating conditions of the injection molding machine, a machine control unit receives the operating parameters from the human-machine interface (215), the machine control unit capable of transmitting a controlling signals to a fluid power pack (214) and/or a proportional flow valve (222); and an actuator (13) is actuated based on the controlling signals received by the fluid power pack (214) and the proportional flow valve (222), to reciprocate the clamp axis (11) in linear direction. The system (30) is capable of toggling from a normal mode to eco-mode and vice versa by means of the human-machine interface (215). The present invention reduces the absolute power demand during operating of the clamp axis by 15% - 30%.
