The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: Abstract Title: SYSTEM FOR NON-CONTACT RAILWAY GAUGE MEASUREMENT. The present invention discloses a non-contact system for real-time railway track gauge measurement comprising atleast two optical sensors with active actuators to dynamically centre said sensors over rail heads, atleast one retroreflective marker centrally disposed with respect to said sensors and a processing unit operating based on data from said sensors for dynamically controlling said actuators to align the sensors substantially plumb with the rail head thus allowing the sensors to track profile of the rail heads even when supporting inspection vehicle undergoes vibration, oscillation or minor positional changes. The sensors are configured to measures their distance to the central retroreflective marker and the processing unit, post alignment of the sensors, derives the track gauge by summing instantaneous distance between the respective sensor and the retroreflective marker.
