The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: A system (100) for medical imaging is disclosed. The system (100) includes an ultrasound (US) probe connected by a US cable (112) having a sensor (204) along its length. The sensor (204) is adapted to gather measurement data from the US cable (112). The system (100) also has a processor and a memory (130). The memory (130) stores instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: input the measurement data to a trained computational model (512); and apply the trained computational model (512) to the measurement data to predict cable (112) integrity of the US cable (112) based on ground truth data, or to forecast a remaining useful life (RUL) of the US cable (112) using ground truth data, or both. A sensor (204) including a flexible textile-like substrate is also described. The sensor (204) is embedded in the substrate and along a length of the US cable (112).
