MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641052560 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on April 24, 2026, for System For Estimating A Vertical Height Of Origin Of Passive Droplets And Method Thereof.
Inventors include Nischitha C S; Vikram Palimar; Satyanarayana; Aparna Jayakala; Arjun M S; and Deepika Chenna.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system (100) and method (300) for estimating a vertical height of origin of passive droplets. The system (100) may include a data acquisition unit (102), a processor (120) and a memory (130). The memory (130) storing instructions which when executed by the processors (120) cause the system (100) to extract morphological parameters of the droplet stains including at least one of diameter, area, perimeter, aspect ratio, spine features, and satellite features by an image analysis unit (104). The extracted parameters are preprocessed by handling missing or inconsistent data by a data processing unit (106). One or more predictive models is applied to the processed parameters by a modelling engine (108). An estimated vertical origin height of the droplet is generated based on the predictive models by an output unit (110).
