MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611100858 A) filed by Poornima University; Ms. Sheena Khan; and Dr. Ashish Raj on August 20, 2026, for System For Electro-Thermal Battery Degradation Prediction And Lifecycle Optimization.
Inventors include Ms. Sheena Khan; and Dr. Ashish Raj.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: A predictive battery degradation and lifecycle optimization system and method for an electric vehicle are disclosed. The system includes a battery parameter sensing unit, a battery data conditioning unit, a battery lifecycle prediction unit, an adaptive battery optimization unit, and a battery management interface unit. The battery parameter sensing unit continuously acquires battery operating parameters including voltage, current, temperature, and internal resistance. The battery data conditioning unit generates an electro-thermal degradation signature by chronologically synchronizing the acquired battery operating parameters and correlating the synchronized battery operating parameters with historical operating states. The battery lifecycle prediction unit generates a degradation trajectory from the electro-thermal degradation signature, determines a remaining useful life estimate, and identifies battery degradation progression. The adaptive battery optimization unit generates a battery operating envelope defining charging current, charging rate, depth of discharge, and thermal operating range for subsequent battery operation.
