Inventors include Dr. Subathra Radhakrishnan; and Dr. Catherine Ann Martin.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a system and method for early detection and classification of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). A biophysical spectral data acquisition unit (102) receives an isolated biological sample to determine a raw spectral profile using a vibrational spectroscopic device. A molecular biomarker analysis unit (104) processes transcriptomic expression data from the sample. A central processing server (106) extracts disease-associated biophysical spectral signatures by monitoring shifts and intensity deviations across preset biomolecular vibrational bands, while extracting differential expression values for a predetermined panel of molecular biomarkers. A multi-layer pattern-matching unit (106C) aligns the extracted spectral signatures with the biomarker expression values via matrix cross-correlation to generate a harmonized biochemical and molecular fingerprint vector. A classification processing unit (108) evaluates the spatial distance of the fingerprint vector within a hyperplane boundary separation matrix to classify the sample into one of a normal liver condition, a cirrhotic liver condition, and an early- stage HCC condition.
