Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a system and method for secure authentication, and retrieval of digital witness statements within legal, and investigative environments. The invention provides an integrated digital framework, comprising witness authentication modules, interfaces for recording statements in an encrypted format, cryptographic verification engines, blockchain-based integrity validation systems, secure storage repositories, and audit trail monitoring mechanisms. The disclosed system allows witnesses and authorized legal representatives to securely record, and preserve witness statements by utilizing multi-factor authentication techniques such as password validation, biometric verification, digital signature and one-time password authentication. The invention also includes cryptographic hashing, a timestamp generation and verification of immutability in the blockchain to detect unauthorized modifications and maintain evidence integrity and non- repudiation. The secure storage architecture provides centralized or distributed storage, cloud or hybrid storage, role based access control and automatic backup. Further, the system has comprehensive audit logs to track access events, verification events and retrieval operations associated with each witness statement. The invention provides significant benefits in terms of security of legal evidence, operational efficiency, tamper resistance, reliability and the ability to bypass reliance on traditional witness documentation systems based on paper. The disclosed system can be deployed in any court, law enforcement agency, forensic laboratory, government agency, or legal organization that needs a secure digital witness evidence management solution.
