MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641111185 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on September 16, 2026, for System For Detecting Objectification In Multimedia Content And Method Thereof.
Inventors include Pradeep Kumar T S; Renuka Devi R; Pranay J Sathish; Cavin Chandran; and Sowmya Arunachalam.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: A system (100) for detecting objectification in multimedia content is disclosed. An input acquisition unit (102) acquires video data from one or more data sources. A processing unit (104) receives video data and extracts a plurality of frames representing temporal segments. An image preprocessing unit (104-1) preprocesses the frames to generate standardized frames. An objectification detection unit (104-2) processes each standardized frame using a convolutional neural network model to generate an objectification score. The processing unit (104) identifies flagged frames based on a configurable threshold. A vision-language processing unit (104-3) generates captions, and an analysis unit (104-4) validates the captions. An interpretation unit (104-5) generates explainability outputs indicating contributing visual regions and influencing features.
