MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541068347 A) filed by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on July 17, 2025, for System For Degradation Testing Of Engineering Materials.

Inventors include Vignesh, R. Vaira; Govindaraju, M.; Ragula, Udaya Bhaskar Reddy; and Venkataraman, B..

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (100) for degradation testing and life assessment of engineering materials under combined thermal, mechanical, chemical, and cryogenic conditions. The system (100) may include a computing system (102) operatively coupled to a mechanical loading unit (108), a heating unit (110), a cryogenic unit (112), a corrosion unit (114), and an environmental control unit (116). A test cell (200) may house a specimen (118) and support exposure to one or more simultaneous stress factors. The heating unit (110) may include an induction coil heating unit (204) and a resistive heating unit (210). The cryogenic unit (112) may circulate liquid nitrogen for sub-zero temperature testing, while the corrosion unit (114) may expose the specimen (118) to molten salts or reactive gases. The environmental control unit (116) may regulate gas composition via flow controllers (504), pressure relief valve (512), and vacuum pump (202), enabling repeatable, service-representative degradation simulations.
