Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a system (100) for decentralized privacy-preserving identity verification using zero-knowledge proofs through cryptographic commitment generation, on-chain cryptographic commitment anchoring, issuer-attested credential verification, Groth16-based zero-knowledge proof validation, nullifier-based replay protection, and selective cryptographic attribute verification on distributed blockchain infrastructure (128). In one embodiment herein, the system (100) comprises a computing device (102), a processor (104), a memory (106), plurality of modules (108), a network (124), issuer systems (126), distributed blockchain infrastructure (128), verifier smart contracts (130), user devices (132), and decentralized service platforms (134). The system (100) reduces blockchain verification overhead, proof-generation latency, arithmetic circuit complexity, blockchain gas consumption, and decentralized authentication cost through utilization of zero-knowledge-circuit-optimized cryptographic primitives. The system (100) performs decentralized proof verification using Groth16-based zero-knowledge proof architectures and blockchain-based verifier smart contract infrastructures.
