MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611088516 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University on July 20, 2026, for System For Cross-Platform Product Identification By Multi-Factor Score Fusion.

Inventors include Vijaya Saxena; Harshda Kumari; Nishtha; and Bijoy Mukherjee.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system, and a method and medium, for identifying across e-commerce platforms listings that denote the same product. Listing data comprising a title, an image and a specification is acquired from several platforms and normalised. For a pair of listings the system computes a title similarity score as a semantic similarity of the titles, an image similarity score, a specification match score and a model number match score, and combines them into a fused score by a weighted combination in which each score is multiplied by a weight. Where a factor is unavailable its score is omitted and the weights re-normalised over the available factors. Listings whose fused score exceeds a threshold are assigned a unified product identity and compared under it. Combining the factors lets an available factor compensate for an absent one, improving accuracy over any single factor.
