Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system for context aware retrieval augmented generation. The system receives a user query and context metadata through a user interface (104) and processes the query using a query understanding module (106) to determine intent, complexity, and sensitivity. The system evaluates persona, expertise, authorization, and organizational role using a user context engine (108). The system integrates query metadata and user context with a policy-driven control layer through an adaptive retrieval controller (110) to compute retrieval strategies and parameters before execution. The system accesses heterogeneous knowledge sources using a retrieval engine (112) and applies authorization filtering, granularity regulation, and redaction of sensitive content using a context governance layer (114). The system produces responses aligned with user capability and authorization, regulating length, depth, and terminology using a generation engine (118). A response delivery module (120) returns the output, with policy enforcement and closed-loop adaptation ensuring compliance, relevance, and usability.
