MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106169 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on September 03, 2026, for System For Authenticating Solid Pharmaceutical Dosage Form And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Kiran Kumar M; P. Manikandan; Anagh Vasishtha; Naman Santoki; Hardik Chanana; and Rakshit Awadhiya.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a system (100) and a method (200) for authenticating a solid pharmaceutical dosage form. The system (100) includes an optical sensing unit (102) to obtain optical data, an acoustic sensing unit (104) to obtain acoustic signals, and a dissolution observation unit (106) to obtain one or more dissolution parameters associated with dissolution behaviour of the solid pharmaceutical dosage form. A processor (108) having a memory (108-1) executes instructions to receive the optical data, the acoustic signals, and the one or more dissolution parameters through a data acquisition unit (110), preprocess the received data by a preprocessing unit (112), extract optical, acoustic, and dissolution features by a feature extraction unit (114), generate a physical fingerprint profile by a fusion unit (116), validate the physical fingerprint profile by a consistency evaluation unit (118), determine authenticity by an authentication unit (120), and classify the solid pharmaceutical dosage form by a decision unit (124).
