MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411094059 A) filed by Navanshu Saharan on November 30, 2024, for System And Process For Preparation And Purification Of Elemental Bromine By Hot Processing.
Inventor includes Navanshu Saharan.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: A system and process for preparation and purification of elemental bromine through hot processing is provided. The system includes a mother liquor storage tank and a transfer pump to distribute portions of mother liquor for different processes. A pre-heater warms the first portion, creating heated mother liquor, while an effluent/scrubber column processes the second portion. A mild steel-glass lined reaction column with upper and lower sections receives the heated liquor, effluent, and gaseous chlorine, producing elemental bromine and HCl. The lower section utilizes live steam for stripping elemental bromine, generating a vapor mixture. This vapor is cooled in primary and secondary condensers, yielding condensate bromine and steam. A bromine phase separator divides condensate into heavy bromine and aqueous phases. A mild steel-glass lined purification column refines the heavy bromine phase. Purified bromine vapor is condensed, and residual impurities are stripped, producing elemental bromine stored in a bromine storage tank. FIGS. 1A and 1B
