Inventors include Dr. B. Gomathi; S. Reshma; S. Deeksha; A. Amala Arlyn; and E. G. Sarmineswary.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: An intelligent electric vehicle (EV) charging management system and method are disclosed. The invention integrates edge-based monitoring units installed at EV charging stations, a cloud-based prediction platform, a multi-station management system, and a user application to improve the efficiency of EV charging operations. The edge monitoring units continuously collect real-time charging station data, including power consumption, charging activity, and station utilization, and transmit the processed data to the cloud platform. Upon receiving a charging request from a user, the cloud platform combines the real-time station data with user-provided information, such as battery state of charge and vehicle type, to predict future charging demand using a machine learning model. Based on the predicted demand, a decision engine determines whether the requested charging station is available, schedules a charging session if required, or recommends 15 an alternative charging station based on predicted availability and proximity. The user application provides real-time charging station information, intelligent station recommendations, navigation assistance, and advance charging slot reservation. The disclosed system improves charging infrastructure utilization, reduces user waiting time, balances charging demand across multiple stations, and supports stable and efficient operation of the electrical grid.
