Abstract: A system (100) to generate functional requirement documents in pre-defined templates from a metadata repository is provided. A processing module is configured to retrieve validated metadata relevant to functional and non-functional requirements to the attribute level based on the domain of the project from a metadata repository. The metadata repository stores the validated metadata at an attribute level. The processing module allows the user to select, validate, and refine the metadata in the pre- defined template. The metadata is refined iteratively with feedback at each iteration to ensure accuracy and consistency. The processing module extracts metadata from external sources for any functionality absent in the metadata repository using a LLM, Agentic AI, and open-source data. The processing module extracts additional metadata at an attribute level. An analyst module allows an expert to validate and refine the metadata extracted. A generating module generates the functional requirements document in the pre-defined template. FIG. 2
