Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD TO ENABLE MATERIAL CLASSIFICATION AND LOW-TORQUE INLINE COMPACTION IN RVM The patent application relates to a system and process for implementing artificial intelligence (AI) enabled material classification and low torque inline compaction in a Reverse Vending Machine (RVM). The system includes an item intake port in communication with an AI enabled inspection port that receives and inspects the deposited recyclable item using at least one camera and at least one sensor. The AI enabled classification system analyzes the collected data regarding the item to classify the material type, condition and suitability of the item for compaction. A processor then moves the item into an inverted chamber which has a rotatable tilt table that selectively moves the item towards either a compaction device or a bypass path. The compactable items are passed between the compactor plate and a reaction wall for reducing the volume of the item through a roller or plate compactor for reducing the volume of the item, while the non-compactible, fragile or other items bypass the compaction process. The discharge routing system is used to route the compacted or non-compacted item into a particular collection bin. Fig. 4
