Abstract: A system (102) for detecting a tampered state of a handlebar lock (124) in a vehicle (100), is disclosed. The system (102) includes a plurality of sensors (201) and at least one control unit (202). The plurality of sensors (201) is configured to detect a plurality of parameters (104). Furthermore, the at least one control unit (202) is configured to correlate the plurality of consecutive real-time values of the yaw axis with a predefined range of values and correlate the distance value with a predefined distance threshold value. Lastly, the at least one control unit (202) is configured to detect the tampered state of the handlebar lock (124), upon determination that each of the plurality of consecutive real-time values is within the predefined range of values and the distance value exceeds the predefined distance threshold value, based on the correlation.
