MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541028957 A) filed by Tejas Networks Limited on March 27, 2025, for System And Method Of Ambient Iot Paging And Random Access Supporting Multiple Readers.
Inventors include Sushmita Ghosh; and Sriganesh Rajendran.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: A system and method for Ambient Internet of Things (A-IoT) paging and random access in New Radio (NR) systems are disclosed. The invention defines unified message structures for a reader-to-device paging message (msg0) and a device-to-reader response message (msg1) applicable to both Contention-Free Access (CFA) and Contention-Based Random Access (CBRA) procedures. The msg0 structure includes parameters such as paging identifier, message type identifier, transaction identifier, reader identifier, query type indicator, and time and frequency resource allocation information. The msg1 structure includes parameters such as a random identifier, message type identifier, data size indicator, device energy status indicator, data presence indicator, and upper-layer data. The invention further defines device behavior in multi-reader scenarios using transaction identifiers derived from a correlation identifier and reader identifier for Ambient IoT deployments in 5G Advanced and 6G systems.
