Abstract: A system and method for verifying environmental assertions in multilingual, transliterated and mixed-script marketing content. A segmentation module assigns a language label to each token independently of the script label of its characters, marking transliterated tokens. A canonicalisation module assigns tokens to a preserved class comprising numeric values, measurement units, certification identifiers, temporal expressions and hedging expressions, or to a convertible class, and carries preserved tokens into a canonical representation without substitution, reordering or omission and with retained positional association, whereby quantitative and evidentiary attributes liable to loss under translation remain available for verification. Detected assertions are converted into structured tuples and evaluated against stored evidence records by an entity correspondence test, a temporal correspondence test and a quantitative correspondence test applied independently, each producing a retained result. A substantiation status is emitted together with the retained results and the identifier and provenance of each evidence record consulted, whereby the ground of each determination is identified and the determination is auditable
