Abstract: SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VEHICLE COMPONENT REMAINING USEFUL LIFE ESTIMATION USING PHYSICS-INFORMED FEATURE ENGINEERING ABSTRACT A computer-implemented method (300) for estimating remaining useful life of a vehicle component receives time-series operational data from onboard vehicle sensors (104), transforms the data into instantaneous degradation features representing operating stress and cumulative degradation features representing monotonic lifetime damage accumulation, computes the cumulative features using a seeded prefix summation initialized from persisted component state metadata stored in a component state store (120), concatenates the features into a dual-channel temporal representation, provides the representation to a temporal learning module (114) including a multi-layer recurrent neural network that models short-term stress dynamics and long-term degradation trends, generates an estimated remaining useful life, and outputs the estimate for maintenance planning. A data processing system (106) includes a data ingestion module (108), a physics-based feature engineering module (110), a sequence generation module (112), the temporal learning module (114), and an output module (118) configured to perform corresponding functions.
