MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611100540 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on August 18, 2026, for System And Method For User Viewing Monitoring.
Inventors include Dr. Deepak Gupta; and Dr. M. Krupa.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: A wearable monitoring system (100) and method for continuously monitoring a viewing distance between a user and one or more digital display devices are disclosed. The system (100) comprises a wearable spectacle frame (101), a distance sensing module (102), a processing unit (103), a memory unit (104), an alert module (105), and a power source (106), and optionally a wireless communication module (107). The distance sensing module (102) continuously measures the viewing distance, while the processing unit (103) compares the measured distance with one or more predetermined, personalized viewing distance threshold values stored in the memory unit (104). Upon detecting a persistent unsafe viewing condition, the processing unit activates the alert module to notify the user. The processing unit further records viewing-related information for behavioural analysis and adaptive threshold management. The wireless communication module transmits monitoring information to an external computing device for viewing history and compliance reporting.
