Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a system and a method to unlock a charging connector (112) from a charging port (108) of a vehicle (100). The system comprises of a mode selection switch (102) disposed in the vehicle (100) and a control unit (106). The control unit (106) is configured to receive an input from the mode selection switch (102). The control unit (106) then generates a control signal in response to the received input, to unlock a locking mechanism securing the charging connector (112) to the charging port (108). Thereafter, the control unit (106) transmits the control signal to a device (114) associated with the charging port (108). In an embodiment the device (114) is configured to unlock the locking mechanism based on the control signal.
