Abstract: [077] The invention provides a scanner-coupled forensic system for reconstructing a face from cranial data and verifying candidate identities. A quality assessment module assigns regional reliability values to scanned skull geometry. An anatomical graph links cranial landmarks and surface patches, and an uncertainty-aware generator produces a continuous soft-tissue displacement field with regional uncertainty. Deterministic and probabilistic reconstruction paths generate anatomically constrained facial surfaces, from which a consensus surface and alternative surfaces are selected. Candidate images are compared with the generated surfaces, and candidate-specific cranial compatibility envelopes are derived from candidate facial geometry and registered with the actual skull. A composite ranking uses uncertainty-weighted facial similarity, cranial compatibility, pose consistency, and ranking stability. The system rejects anatomically incompatible candidates and generates a traceable report containing scan provenance, reliability maps, reconstruction uncertainty, score components, and rejection reasons.
