MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641070693 A) filed by Cvr College Of Engineering on June 06, 2026, for System And Method For Tracking Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Using Ground-Based Optical Analysis.

Inventor includes R. Naveena Bhargavi.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for automatically mapping agricultural crop fields and water bodies using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and ground-based optical analysis. This application is ONLY for accurate movement of UAVs in a given crop fields and identify the exact embarkment lines. The UAV will move in a predesignated area with clear cut offs where it finds new Farm embankment. When UAV is operational initially it moves towards any direction to find an embarkment and moves along the embarkment by moving 3 to 4 mts left and right for accurate embarkment position. In the process, it creates a clear map of the crop area. Entire this process is done automatically, and the data is carried to a offshore computer to prepare a map. On an instruction from the ground station, the UAV moves to the next field and creates a similar map. This continuous process creates a map of a particular village/area with crop area, vacant/barren area. Such mapping is done once in a week so that no mismanagement is done in the data. This map is useful for NGOs, Governmental agencies for crop estimation and subsidiary disbursement and computation of crop yield for the season.
